A 6-Week
Anxiety & Depression
Skills Group for
Teen Girls
Anxiety and depression can make your teen feel like danger is always lurking—like a cheetah ready to pounce.
In this 6-week skills group, we’ll help your teen identify her “cheetahs”:
-
External ones such as relationship struggles, school pressures, and family dynamics
-
Internal ones such as racing thoughts, anxious behaviors, and depressed mood
In a fun, age-appropriate, and collaborative setting, your teen will learn skills to:
-
CALM the nervous system
-
COPE with intense emotions and difficult situations
-
COMMIT to identify, understand, and manage emotions in a healthy way
-
CREATE a set of skills to improve relationships, assert needs, and resolve conflicts effectively
-
CAST anxieties on the Lord, discovering spiritual practices that keep the focus on Christ
This group is skills-based, not intensive therapy. Some teens may also benefit from individual counseling. A free info call will help you decide if the group is the right fit.
📅 Next session: Begins Monday, October 27, meets weekly (excluding Thanksgiving week) through the week of December 8, from 5:30-7:00 pm. Additional days/times may be added if this session fills. Cost is $300 for 6 sessions. All groups meet at the Kevin Brady Library/Community Center located at 2250 Buckthorne Pl., The Woodlands, 77380.
